Troy Man Charged After Shaking Baby

A TROY MAN WHO VIOLENTLY SHOOK HIS INFANT DAUGHTER CAUSING

PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO SERVE SIX YEARS IN

PRISON. 32-YEAR OLD ROGER MEYER WAS INDICTED FOR ASSAULT AFTER

ALLEGEDLY SHAKING HIS 4-MONTH-OLD DAUGHTER IN A TROY HOTEL ROOM

ON JAN. 31, 2019. MEYER APOLOGIZED TO THE COURT AND HIS FAMILY BEFORE

HE WAS SENTENCED.


Fireworks Still Illegal in Ohio

WHILE IT’S LEGAL TO PURCHASE FIREWORKS IN OHIO, IT’S STILL ILLEGAL TO

SHOOT THEM OFF IN THE STATE. THOSE PYROTECHNICS MUST BE TAKEN OUT

OF THE STATE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF PURCHASE. WITH SOME CITIES AND

TOWNS CANCELLING THEIR FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAYS DUE TO

COVID-19, A RISE IN ILLEGAL FIREWORKS DISPLAYS COULD LEAD TO MORE

INJURIES. MEANWHILE THE OHIO LEGISLATURE IS WORKING ON A BILL TO

LEGALIZE THE USE OF FIREWORKS IN THE STATE..


Bridge Replacement Scheduled in Miami County

A BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN MIAMI COUNTY IS A BIT CLOSER TO

REALITY, THANKS TO THE APPROVAL BY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR BRIDGE

DESIGN SERVICES. SCHEDULED TO BE REPLACED IN 2024 IS THE PETERSON

ROAD BRIDGE LOCATED EAST OF COUNTY ROAD 25A OVER THE GREAT MIAMI

RIVER. THE CURRENT BRIDGE, USING PRE-STRESSED CONCRETE BOX BEAM

CONSTRUCTION, WAS BUILT IN 1970. THE TOTAL PROJECT COST IS ESTIMATED

AT $5.7 MILLION, OF WHICH 80 PERCENT WILL BE FEDERALLY FUNDED.


Dragons Cancel Season

WHAT HAS BEEN SPECULATED FOR SOME TIME IS NOW OFFICIAL. THE

DAYTON DRAGONS AND ALL 160 MINOR LEAGUE TEAMS HAVE CANCELLED THE

2020 MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SEASON. MEANWHILE, THE DRAGONS ARE

HOLDING A SUMMER BLOWOUT SALE AT THE TEAM’S ONLINE STORE. UNTIL

THE END OF JULY, EVERYTHING IS 30-PERCENT OFF.

WWII, THE B-25 WAS MADE FAMOUS BY THE DOOLITTLE RAID FIVE MONTHS

AFTER THE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR.

THE DOWNTOWN TIPP CITY PARTNERSHIP WILL AGAIN HOST THE MINIATURE

GOLF ADVENTURE COURSE THROUGH THE DOWNTOWN SHOPS AND EATERIES
