Donors With COVID Antibodies Now Eligible

MORE DONORS CAN NOW QUALIFY TO HELP COVID-19 PATIENTS BY

DONATING PLASMA AT COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER. DONORS WITH A

POSITIVE BLOOD TEST FOR COVID-19 ANTIBODIES ARE NOW ELIGIBLE. THIS

PLASMA IN HOSPITALS AS A LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT. CBC HAS BEEN

COLLECTING PLASMA FROM ANTIBODY-TESTED DONORS ON A TRIAL BASIS

SINCE JUNE 12. DONORS CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS AND

REGISTER TO DONATE BY CALLING 937-461-3220.


Junior Fair Shows Continue with Guidelines

WHILE THIS YEAR’S SHELBY COUNTY FAIR WAS CANCELLED, THE JUNIOR FAIR

SHOWS WILL PROCEED FOLLOWING A NUMBER OF GUIDELINES. FOR

LIVESTOCK SHOWS, ALL SHOWS FOR A SPECIES – SUCH AS MARKET SHOWS AND

SHOWMANSHIP SHOWS – MUST BE COMPLETED IN ONE DAY. ANIMALS WILL

ARRIVE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS AND DEPART THE DAY OF THEIR SHOWS. THE

DECISION TO LIMIT SHOWS TO A SINGLE DAY WAS MADE IN ORDER TO REDUCE

THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN AN ATTEMPT TO DECREASE

THE CHANCE OF SPREADING COVID-19.

THEM TO ALL DARKE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR STUDENTS IN

NEED.COLLECTION DAY IS FRIDAY, JULY 31 FROM 9 A.M. TO 4 P.M. AT THE

BUFFALO WILD WINGS PARKING LOT IN GREENVILLE. LAST YEAR A LITTLE OVER

73-HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES WAS COLLECTED. THIS

YEAR THE GOAL IS TO COLLECT 10-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN SUPPLIES.

THE PIQUA-CALDWELL HISTORIC DISTRICT IS HOLDING A SCAVENGER HUNT

WITHIN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT ON SATURDAY, JULY 11 FROM 11 A.M. TO 4

P.M. HUNTERS CAN PICK UP A MAP OF THE DISTRICT AT 324 W. ASH ST.,

BEGINNING AT 11 A.M. PARTICIPANTS ARE ASKED TO SEARCH FOR 16

ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES IN THE DISTRICT AND WRITE DOWN THE ADDRESS

FOR EACH ONE FOUND. THOSE WHO FIND ALL 16 FEATURES WILL BE ELIGIBLE

FOR A DRAWING OF SEVERAL GIFT CARDS.

Tippapalooza Music Festival Continuing

THE ORGANIZERS OF THE ANNUAL TIPPAPALOOZA MUSIC FESTIVAL ARE

MOVING FORWARD WITH THIS YEAR’S EVENT THAT BENEFITS A LOCAL CHARITY

ON SEPTEMBER 5. THE FESTIVAL FEATURES MIAMI VALLEY MUSICIANS AND

BANDS. ORGANIZERS SAID THE MUSIC WILL BE PRESENTED IN A “DIFFERENT,

PANDEMIC-FRIENDLY FORMAT. THIS WILL BE THE NINTH YEAR FOR

TIPPAPALOOZA, WHICH HAS RAISED MORE THAN $10,000 FOR LOCAL

CHARITIES. THIS YEAR’S BENEFICIARY WILL BE THE TIPP CITY-BASED PROJECT

BELIEVE.
